Scottish Festival

I would like to say we attend the Scottish Festival annually to celebrate our heritage and learning more about our family history. Mostly, we just attend to see the cool booths, eat yummy food, watch strong men challenges, and fight the giant.

Building Forts with Cousins

In June, Victoria and Roger stopped by with their girls on their way to Grandma's house. My kiddos had a blast building forts, playing games, and having a picnic lunch with their cousins.

Getting Wet at the Zoo

After the last day of school, we went to the zoo. It was a lot of fun even though it was super crowded. I think each of my kiddos needs a story about how they got lost, and today it was Ryan's turn. Ryan wandered out of the splash pad area and I didn't see him. Instead of wandering farther afield he started asking  people for help to find his mom. As soon as I realized he was missing, I started looking for him and within a couple of minutes had some ask if I was Ryan's mom. I turned to her and said, "Yes" only to see a line of people pointing me towards my 3 year old son. I was so grateful he stopped, asked for help, and told people his name so we could find each other quickly.

Welcome to Summer 2014

Dance Festival

In May, Ryan and I attended the last dance festival Benjamin and Bekah would be in at their current elementary. Our area is growing so fast that the schools are crowded and it takes a while to build a new one. However, this year a new school was completed and we were assigned to the new school. Thus, going to the dance festival was a little bitter sweet this year.

Playing Catch Up

I like to take pictures. I'm not fantastic at it, but I try to capture our memories decently and am mostly successful at it. The down side is I have not been sharing those pictures as soon as they are taken and they have accumulated over the last year. Sharing our pictures helps me remember we did have some bright spots in amid the chaos of every day living. I'm still 8 months behind, but hope to be catching up soon. Hopefully, I will be able to interject a few current posts and can get back to posting regularly instead of just photo-journaling our life.
