Mareesa Gets Married!

My dear friend Mareesa marreid Nathan in June in the Albuquerque Temple. She is such a beautiful person I really expected she would be married long before I was. I guess it just takes a long time to find the perfect person when you are as wonderful as she is. I loved being there and sharing their special day with them. Congratulations!

Caterer, Cook, & Dishwasher, Part of My Job

Part of my job includes planning meals, buying groceries and other supplies, and cleaning up afterwards. I say "caterer" because it is my job to find things my family members like to and will eat as well as making sure that food is purchased, prepared, and created for special occasions. I include "cook" because more often then not I am the one who is fixing and preparing the food. The "dishwasher" part comes with the clean up after each meal, whether I am using an electronic dishwasher or washing the dishes by hand someone has to be on clean up detail.

Shout Out to Single Parents & Military Wives

Last week Michael went on a rafting trip for the entire week. The help I thought I had arranged months in advance bailed out on me at the last minute and I spent the week with three kids by myself. I ran all of the errands, did all of the bedtime routines and meals, tried to clean the house, and made it to all of there activities on my own. I really don't know how I did it with as busy and independent as my children are.

Every time things were extremely challenging, I would remind myself it was only so many more days and be grateful I don't have to do this full time. Whenever Michael leaves town, whether for a day or several days, my admiration for single parents and military wives grows. I have no idea how the manage to do everything they do and still love life so much. They must have a ton of faith because raising a family is a TON of work especially when you don't have someone to share the load with. I am glad Michael is home.

T-ball

Benjamin played T-ball this summer, even with his broken elbow. I am not a fan of organized sports, but T-ball was really laid back. Every player was able to bat every inning, no one every received an out, and no strikes. The biggest part was to help the children become acquainted with the game and give them a chance to play with the baseball.
