For the 24th of July, Pioneer Day, we packed our day full of activities. We started the day with a breakfast picnic in front of the TV to watch the annual parade. Then we went over to some friends' house and the kiddos played while Mom and her friend, Raegan, canned some apricots. To be exact, we did six batches of jam (Raegan did the second set of batches by herself because I had to run to the hospital for a shot), 1 batch of apricot/pineapple syrup, and 2 batches of apricots. The total results were 24 pints of jam, 7 pints of syrup, and 14 quarts of apricots from about 4 1/2 hours of work with the help of 2 canners.
After we cleaned up our canning mess, we (my family and our friends from the morning) went to the city's annual Fireman Foam Day where the local firefighters set up their firetrucks and sprayed foam all over the crowd. Of course, foam participation was optional but sunscreen was not.
For our next activity, we went over to some more friends' house for a swimming party and barbeque. We had a lot of fun in the pool with our three families, and the barbeque was yummy! We concluded our day with fireworks and pie after dark. It was a wildly busy and fun day.

Pictures from the fireworks "graveyard" after most of the fireworks had been set off.
